“Creating Connections Between Culture and Technology in an Education Hub for Learning” 

TYPOLOGY

NYC library, a place for the community to come together for learning and social activities. Learning of the history, culture and dynamics of the varying peoples who have called this place home as well as of the current inhabitants. The library will be the hub of the community - physical & virtual space for collaboration, learning, creating, and networking - in which the community will connect with each other.

GOALS

Design a new public library and community activity center at 230 Madison Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. This library will serve the local community, providing a place to read and study, access the internet with fixed computer work stations & power/data locations for laptops, and a place for groups to congregate.
